Relationships are supposed to last forever right? So here's what I realized. I don't really care if you disagree with me, it's just too awesome just wanna share it.
Why enter a relationship with a girl or a boy if you're not willing to keep it forever? I mean, entering into a committment is not real when you're thinking that there's a possible expiration date for the both of you. (How I Met Your Mother inspired)
Here's what I realized. Old people were right when they tell us to wait for the right person, and the all time favorite "Bata ka pa" line. For me, we should only enter into a commitment when we both know that we're ready to face life together. It involves a whole lot more when we say we'd better be ready.
The ultimate sign when you know you're ready is when you believe that you're at your "best" already. Being at "best" means focusing on yourself first -- Loving yourself and motivating yourself to be a better person everyday. Being at best may mean reaching the personal goals that you set up. Forever can wait. Be the "best" first.
GETTING READY FOR A RELATIONSHIP involves a lot more than you think. Well, I'm sure it involves the right person. It doesn't necessarily mean that the right person may be mr or ms. "perfect", nor does it mean you share the same personality. It's all about compatibility, acceptance, and making things work. Remember, you're going to spend FOREVER with that person. You can never change a person, you can only compromise and make him or her HAPPIER
Be the best you can be for the one who is willed for you to be with. Because just like everyone, we all deserve the BEST.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A RELATIONSHIP NOW,
well here's my adivce, WAIT. "Chill ka lang dadating din yan." Forever can wait. That special person is still in his process in being the best, just like you. You'll cross trails soon.
Though, most won't see it coming. That person might be that girl you saw in the plumbing section while doing the monthly grocery. He may be that boy you had an eye contact and a little smirk with while walking in the school corridor, and you said to yourself " ay ang gwapo naman nun". She may be that classmate of yours you always have laughtrip moments with. That person might be your friend's friend whom he brought along into a party, and suddenly introduced him to you. That person may be that gwapo guy you met on the dance floor (why not right?) AND if you're lucky that person might be your bestfriend. Who knows? I won't know. Like what I said, usually we won't see it coming. AND when it does, I'm sure you'll have the surprise of your life.
IF YOU'RE IN A RELATIONSHIP, and you claim that she/he is "the one."
Prove it to each other by being the best for one another. Here's a specific example: Focusing on business first. Taking up masterals for a good job. Having six pack abs. Being your best may mean going to Canada first to have a good job to start a career so that you can save up and prove to yourself and her "We're ready to face forever" Just know for a fact that you're doing everything to be the best for that person you claim you love. :)
HERE'S A FRIENDLY ADVICE
which I find completely awesome when you claim you're ready. Make your relationship a God-centered one. Being ready means depending your relationship on God.God is our ultimate provider. Be the best you can be for the one that God willed for you to be with because you know and you're sure that God won't settle for less, He'll give you the BEST.
Focus your lives on God. Surrender your lives to Him. Glorify Him together and always make "sumbong" to Him with everything. From the smallest arguments to the problems you feel are too big for you to handle. No problem is greater than our GREAT GOD. IF GOD IS FOR US WHO CAN EVER STAND AGAINST US? God will provide you the strength to love one another perfectly.
PSALM 37:4 says "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart."
Don't just be the best for yourself and for your loved one first. Be the best for God first. Be GOD'S BEST and depend on Him on everything. True greatness is dependence on God alone :)
