Isang Litrong Pag-Asa

This video popped in my facebook newsfeed this morning. It's about this small impoverished village in San Pedro, Laguna where the houses are so closely packed together, light cannot even come in. It was dark so people mostly stayed outside their houses... until "Mang Demi Solar" arrived with the solution of using plastic bottles which would harness the power of solar light and project them inside the homes.

Think of it as recycled substitutes for electric powered light bulbs which can generate up to 55 watts. Watch the video and be inspired!

Fight Against 4 Million Pornography Sites and its $97.06 Revenue

While we were being interviewed in DZMM by Fr. Jerome several days ago, one of the issues that popped up was regarding the increasing number of pornography sites - 4 million plus - and what Manila Kid can do to upset this "gargantuan monstrosity". 4 Million!? I didn't even know it reached more than a hundred thousand!

The shift towards the green revolution is felt even in the world of interior design as the advanced class of 2011 from Philippine School of Interior Design takes on the challenge of using sustainable materials to create spaces that question our perception of how stones, metals, papers... are supposed to function.

I'm Just Saying, The Race

We are all different. We have different preferences in life especially with people. You may find that girl living across your street the "DREAM GIRL" material but your brother may disagree and say "Bro, mukha siyang Kokay" If you find a guy "MR. RIGHT" material, your barkada may disagree and say "NO, di kayo bagay" You find that guy perfect for you but your parents may completely disagree, they might say "Di ka kayang buhayin nyan." Well, there are times that your brother, barkada and parents may agree with you but you find out soon that the person you liked/loved didn't turn out to be the BEST for you.

The Myth of Technological Resolution to Social Problems

The present age already attests to the huge gap between the rich and the poor. What is unfortunate is that, such a phenomenon is growing. Nevertheless, the effort to adjudicate this problem by the different sectors in society has not wavered. The Church, the government, private organizations and groups have their own ideal plan in mind. At times, in the execution of their programs, they clash – a testament to their indifference if not total disregard in view of the other advocates.

A Journey of Faith and Love

If there is one thing I should be grateful for, it would be my World Youth Day (WYD) Madrid 2011 experience! It has been enjoyable, enriching, empowering and memorable - a journey of faith that comes once in a lifetime that I will always treasure.
